In the process of rebranding an already-established brand, where the offered products remain mainly the same, enhancing and elevating the core essence of Chantilly to both maintain its existing audience base, and more importantly, attracting a newer audience base was a glazed goal throughout; even in a case of a complete and drastic visual rebrand.
Setting the scenic mood of Chantilly resulted in focusing on elements that include bistro chairs, wrought iron balconies, striped facades, and neutral spaces with greenery; articulating an idea that subtly brings the allure of French motives into UAE-based craftsmanship and local-audiences.
During the brandmark ideation stage, many iterations were done that test a various scope of regional typographies; aiming to achieve an elegant brandmark that is intentionally-balanced as it is aimed at a broad local demographic of customers, as analyzed from Chantilly’s initial status. The base brandmarks were set to include the type logo, an initial logo, and a signature icon; stable elements of the patisserie business model that provide high flexibility of usage across all of its products—both edible and not—, with the element of incorporating a very subtle, almost-hidden, cream-like icon in it.
